Minneapolis Recycling Block Leader Workshop – OneSort Recycling Edition!

November 15, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
  • This event has passed.

Please join us for our second annual Recycling Block Leader Workshop on America Recycles Day!  This year our workshop will go back to the basics and focus on regular recycling.  We will watch a virtual tour of the recycling facility that sorts Minneapolis recycling, learn in-depth information about what you can and cannot recycle in your blue recycling cart, learn about drop off locations for items that can’t be recycled curbside, participate in a hands-on learning activity, and test your knowledge with some recycling trivia.  We will also help facilitate further dialogue among block leaders so you can be aware of the other block leaders in your neighborhood!

Agenda Overview:

  • What is in the trash
  • Current state of recycling in Minneapolis
  • 10 minute virtual tour of Eureka Recycling
  • Hands on sorting activity – sorting through our recyclables, compostables, and garbage
  • Recycling Jeopardy!  Learn fun facts about what happens to our recyclables and environmental benefits of recycling

RSVP by email here or by calling 612-673-3318.  Please let us know what questions you would like covered at the workshop.

Thanks for your dedication to diverting waste in Minneapolis and hope to see you all at the workshop!

Minneapolis Recycling Staff,
