November 18, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • This event has passed.

Join Memphis City Beautiful and the University of Memphis River Warriors to cleanup the shoreline of McKellar Lake located adjacent to the Mississippi River and downtown Memphis.  Volunteers will be picking up litter that has been thrown out on the streets of Memphis & Shelby County, then swept into the storm drains that empty into Nonconnah Creek, eventually all being deposited and trapped in McKellar Lake.

The University of Memphis Office of Sustainability will supply a recycling truck – all litter & trash will be sorted for recycling.  Memphis City Beautiful will supply all tools, bags and gloves. Volunteers are asked to bring a bottle of water and wear proper clothing and sturdy shoes – no sandals or flip-flops allowed.  In partnership with the University of Memphis Honors Council.
