Candy Wrapper Recycling

October 16 - November 15

DID YOU KNOW…?
Candy Wrappers are not recyclable in your curbside recycling containers or at Lucas County drop off locations?

As you can imagine, this means that a lot of candy wrappers are going to make their way to the landfill this Halloween Season.

To make matters worse, many wrappers don’t actually make it to the landfill at all. Instead they become litter, lining our neighborhood streets and washing into our rivers and lakes.

Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful and the Board of Lucas County Commissioners aims to change this. In partnership with City of Toledo and Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. we will be collecting candy wrappers this Halloween Season. Once collected, we will be send them to Terracycle (www.terracycle.com) a company that specializes in recycling hard to recycle items.

If you would like to help us in recycling candy wrappers, diverting these from the landfill or from becoming litter, request your Candy Wrapper Recycling Box today by visiting www.ktlcb.org.
