Learn. I will find out what materials are collected for recycling in my community at americarecyclesday.org.

Act. Reduce my personal waste by recycling. Within the next month, I will recycle more.

Share. In the next month, I will encourage one family member or one friend to take the pledge.

Please include me in once-a-month emails about recycling.

Our town has weekly pickup for recycling and we have a Coke ReImagine kiosk in our town. We hold a clean up day twice a year and citizens can bring all hazardous and electronic waste, batteries and tires. We have an awesome turnout. I am getting my children to participate in recycling by giving the containers to sort their trash.

Our city has free curbside recycling twice each month. Our church also has recycling bins. I am helping our church become an Earth Care Congregation, certified by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. We are also interested in becoming a part of Interfaith Power and Light.

Taking the first step is always the hardest! But you have to start somewhere_=)

I hope to find a better system recycling scrap metal at construction sites. As now if I recycle it makes me feel like a criminal in most cities because of passed ordinances and police harrasing.

We need to teach our children how to care for their home, and not take our resources for granted.

By refusing single-use plastic items your need to recycle reduces :)
