Event Description: Tours of the recycling center will be given to more than 1,000 5th grade children from the State College Area School District. All children participating get a lesson in local recycling, a tour of the recycling MRF, including a "green building" and have the "take aways" of printed material to take home and share with their families as well as a recycled content giveaway. Each teacher also receives the ARD pledge information to talk about with their students once they return to the classroom. Each class is then sent further recycling information (Trash Talk) twice more during the remainder of the school year.

Event Description: Our 5th grade Jr. Girl Scout Troop is looking to sponsor a recycling awareness day for the Girl Scouts in our Service Unit as part of their Bronze Award work. The event is geared to bringing together local community contacts (Recycling coordinators & EAC Members from Media Boro & Upper Providence Township), recycling collectors (J.P. Masacro & Sons, represented by their youth education presentor & Mascot), and reps from PRC, CRC, NLT, & other local environmental groups to educate & excite the Girl Scouts concerning recycling.

Event Description: Students will collect trash around campus, separate into groups, complete a statistical analysis of the distribution of these materials and then extrapolate the percentrage breakdown of the waste as compared to the student body to arrive at a yearly total of all materials that could be recycled but instead are thrown away or simply lost. In addition, my high school environmental science students will complete a presentation at the elementary school to instruct students on the basics of recycling.

Event Description: Recycling education event based on City of Philadelphia's Single Stream Recycling rules. Full school assembly at Girard College. Students will play 'SCA's Two Minute Recycling Drill game alongside Philadelphia Eagles players with cheerleaders and SWOOP, the mascot. Event Description: HMS has a very comprehensive plan that includes on-site recycling of: high-grade and mixed paper, corrugated cardboard, aluminum, tin and steel cans, plastics #1-#7, glass, garbage, cell phones and batteries, copier toner cartridges, inkjet, and ler printer ink and cartridges, lead acid and other batteries. Off-site recycling drop-off includes yard waste and motor oil. We plan to remind/re-educate all staff, all shifts, and students of procedures, locations and enhancements of the HMS School Recycling Program via Recycling Awareness bulletin board updates, program meetings and classrom activities.
