WITS and the City of Ballwin and Ellisville will be hosting the 6th annual America Recycles Day Computer/Electronics Collection recycling event.  WITS has been hosting America Recycles Day events since 2004 for the Missouri and Illinois communities and will be wrapping up 2009 with this annual ARD event November 7th.  This event will run from 9 am to 4 pm at 335 Halloway Rd in Ballwin MO. It is open to the entire community of St. Louis, West County, and St. Charles County.  To view a complete list of recyclable items please click here: http://witsinc.org/wits_006ab.htm and the list is below.  NO PAINTS, TIRES, WOOD, or CHEMICALS accepted.  Volunteer with friends and earn a free complete refurbished computer.  We guarantee safe data or hard drive destruction.  All recycled items and fees are tax deductible as WITS is a charity.  We do not resell all our electronics to a for profit.  If we can reuse it first we will.  If we cannot we demanufacture it or appropriately recycle it.  WITS will also be looking to turn some of the recycled into youth art projects next year.  WITS has already donated materials to schools and students for art projects.

ARD Display / Awareness Event / Pledge Drive

Event Description
One purpose of this Expo is to connect City officials and employees with sources of reused and recycled-content products, as well as services that can help our City Goverment reduce, reuse, and recycle solid and hazardous wastes.  Another purpose is to connect City residents, businesses, and insititutions with reduce/reuse/recycle-related products and services, particularly from companies and organizations that are based from or already operated in our City, in turn fostering economic and community development.  This Expo will feature businesses and organizations that offer reused and recycled content products, recyclables collection and processing services, and educational programs.  The Upcycle Exchange will give demonstrations on how to creatively "upcycle" (aka reuse) items. New this year - a Book Swap! Pledge to Recycle and you could win a prize!
